The Family Shul’s ‘Ahavas Yisroel’ Community Mitzvah Campaign

 

Campaign Methodology:

Approximately 5 times a year, usually pre-empting major Jewish holidays, participants will contact their designated list of neighbours, and present them with a token gift from Chabad @ Flamingo. Items distributed will be related to the upcoming holiday in the form of information packages of observance kits. 

Participants will keep track of results, on supplied forms, which will help improve the program as it develops. In addition The Rabbis’ @ Flamingo will be appraised of families that may benefit from rabbinical attention and follow-up.

Participants will be provided with educational and inspirational forums that will give them the tools to successfully reach out to strangers. These will include training sessions, special classes and farbrengens.

Additional outreach methods to be employed on a non-scheduled basis will include general relationship building with things like:

- Inviting your neighbours over for Shabbos dinner or lunch 
- Looking for opportunities to do them a spiritual or material favour 
- Seek opportunities to find and share common interests
