The Jewish Group of Seven
The Haftorah reading for the last seven Shabbatot of the year do not follow the order of the Torah portions, instead focusing on “comfort and consolation” in the aftermath of the Three Weeks of Sobriety that culminate with Tisha B’Av – the saddest day on the Jewish calendar. They contain beautiful prophecies that offered Am Yisrael solace and hope after the destruction of the first Beit HaMikdash and have continued to resonate for our people ever since. We are pleased to introduce a new seven-part series of Rabbi Kaplan’s weekly Kabbalah & the Bible entitled Solace in Seven will focus on these seven special Haftorot and their multi-dimensional messages of Divine comfort and consolation. These weekly lectures will be streamed live on the internet so you can attend and absorb the solace in person or enjoy the consolation from the comfort of your living room. Either way, the important thing is to garner these gifts and experience G-d’ love and concern as they emanate through the timeless prism of Isaiah’s prophecies!
